Counselling and Psychotherapy offers a welcoming, non-judgmental, confidential, and respectful space where you can safely share your thoughts, feelings, and challenges at a pace that suits you. There are times in our lives where we need some extra support.
I believe that people have the inherent capacity to work through issues in their life, develop and grow when the right environment is provided. I aim to support you to make choices rooted in the present instead of the past, moving from a place of self-criticism to self-care. I strongly believe that when we transform our relationship with ourselves, we transform our relationship to the world around us.

My Approach
My humanistic-integrative approach combines psychodynamic, mindfulness based cognitive-behavioural therapy, transactional analysis, solution focused, person-centred therapy with the option of Equine assisted psychotherapy allowing for insight, growth, healing and change to take place.
This integrative perspective allows me to adapt my approach to meet the individual needs of each client within the therapeutic space. My approach is rooted in kindness and compassion with a focus on building a secure therapeutic relationship to help you work through the challenges you are facing. I use evidence-based & experiential techniques in my approach to help alleviate symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, etc.
I also provide equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) outside of the clinic, this involves the horse-human connection to assist in the healing of clients emotional and psychological wounds. Horses being prey animals are highly attuned to our nervous system responses, which makes them a useful tool in a psychotherapy session. EAP allows you to use multiple senses while identifying and processing emotional issues and unresolved trauma. The outdoor environment and use of horses lend a unique dimension to psychotherapy. During each session, clients do ground-based activities with horses, there is no horse riding involved and together we work through whatever may arise. Equine assisted psychotherapy sessions take place in Hop Island Equestrian Centre in Rochestown. If you would like to know more about EAP, see link to WEBSITE do get in contact, I am happy to discuss any queries you may have. I will take bookings for EAP outside of clinic times.
