Counselling and Psychotherapy
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy and I am currently Pre-Accredited with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). I work with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
My areas of practice include anxiety, depression, pregnancy loss, addiction and recovery, domestic abuse, low self-esteem, motivation, relationship difficulties, grief, and supporting individuals who are searching for purpose in their lives.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on Psychodynamic, Humanistic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles. While I incorporate techniques from each of these approaches where appropriate, my practice is grounded primarily in Psychodynamic and Humanistic psychotherapy.
Psychodynamic therapy helps us understand how past experiences, unconscious patterns, and early relationships continue to influence our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours today. By bringing these patterns into awareness, clients often develop a deeper understanding of themselves and greater freedom to make lasting changes. Alongside this, my Humanistic approach places genuine value on empathy, authenticity, and the therapeutic relationship, creating a safe and accepting space in which personal growth and healing can occur. CBT techniques may also be integrated where beneficial, particularly to help clients develop practical strategies for managing anxiety, depression, and unhelpful thinking patterns.
My role is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you as you explore your experiences, discover your strengths, and develop the insight and confidence needed to create meaningful change. Whether you are navigating loss, recovering from trauma, struggling with addiction, experiencing anxiety or depression, or simply seeking a greater sense of purpose and direction, I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-informed support that respects your individual journey.
