Food Intolerance Testing
What is a food intolerance?
A food intolerance arises when your body has difficulty absorbing and digesting certain foods. If a food intolerance is left untreated, over time food particles (such as proteins) may enter the bloodstream, which can lead to inflammation of the body.
When you digest a food, your body breaks down its proteins into smaller fragments for easy absorption into the body. Larger fragments can be passed through the body without breaking down, and with a food intolerance, the body reacts to these as though they are a threat. Your body attacks the fragments using antibodies known as Immunoglobulin G’s (IgG).
This causes an over-reaction in your body’s immune system, which can lead to symptoms such as digestive problems, eczema, migraines, headaches, fatigue, depression and low mood, joint pain, and sinusitis.
And because inflammation can damage the intestine, this can reduce your body’s ability to absorb nutrients.
Intolerance Testing by analysing your lgG
One effective way of testing for food intolerance is by analysing your IgG antibody reactions to a total of 156 food and drink ingredients to identify precisely which foods may be triggering an intolerance and causing symptoms.
The simple home-to-laboratory system we use gives easy access to lab testing through an easy-use device. With just a little pinch, the device takes a tiny drop of blood from your finger or thumb. You then place the device to the included packaging so that it can be sent back to the lab for full testing. Once we receive your results, we post them to you straight away.
