Richard is a fully accredited member of IACP, having completed his BA (Hons) in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Munster Technological University (formerly Cork Institute of Technology).
Richard offers support to clients who are new to therapy or those with previous experience, and encourages client awareness, self-discovery and use of resources for better managing different challenges.
This is done by facilitating a safe, supportive, confidential, non-judgemental, and empathetic environment. He believes that clients have the ability and capacity to improve their lives, and can facilitate this through a person to person relationship approach.
His approach to therapy involves various therapeutic methods, primarily with an integrative and humanistic approach, and has experience in Person Centred therapy, Gestalt, Internal Family systems amongst others.
Richard follows a strict code of ethics, and attends regular external supervision sessions with a qualified supervisor as part of his training and requirements as a member of IACP.
Richard is available for face to face short and long term therapy with adults (over 18).
